CD cover
For my CD cover I wanted to take a more unconventional approach so i chose a more complex image of the band as opposed to one where they are standing together facing the camera. I chose the image of the band in the tree as i liked the angle it was taken at and felt it represented their youth and 'playfulness' well. Also by using an image of them in a wood setting it would link back to the music video. I decided to split the image into four unequal parts to create a more unique and 'dysfunctional' look. I also wanted to have the band's name in the same style as it in the poster to again, create a link between all the ad's in the band's digipack.

Treatment
Treatment.
Song “Train Track Tracie”. (TTT)
Location:
-Crouch end-(Northern Heights)
-Queens Wood (forest) segue
-Metropolitan line train and station
-This music video will be shot using a digital camera.
-The video will be performance/ narrative.
-The performance will be shot through high colour contrast, with a grey filter during the dream sequence (the narrative).
Scene 1
The music video begins with the lead singer on the train falling asleep to the rhythm of the train.
(MS of the lead singer cut into a CU of the lead singer’s eyes closing. Soundtrack diegetic sound of train passing. Natural lighting.)
(Straight cut to) Scene 2
(Graphic match from the eyes shut to the eyes opening again in the dream sequence.) The lead singer slowly opens his eyes (shot out of focus, gradually becomes in focus relating to the dream sequence, and the lead singer’s disorientation) to find himself lying on an abandoned railway platform (the soundtrack fades into the band’s soundtrack ‘TTT’).
Straight cut to the band playing in the woods (Hampstead Heath) CU of drummer.
Straight cut back to lead singer.
LS The lead singer rises and sees a female dressed in a white dress, slightly torn and muddy, illustrating the purity and innocence within the female character. (LS Shot reverse shot: A cut into an MS of the female ‘Tracie’ gazing towards the lead singer cut into a CU) of the lead singers face.
Scene 3
Chase sequence, never quite catching the girl.
(High angle of Tracie gently running whilst looking back at the lead singer.)
Tracking MS of lead singer following the female. The Editing will be fast forwarded to emphasise the dream sequence state.)
Cut away to LS of band playing. CU of band members playing instruments specific to that of the song tone.
High angle of the lead singer searching for Tracie. Straight angle looking at the Tracie’s feet.
Cut into a Low angle hand held shot circling the lead singer.
Cut back to the band; a selection of shots compiling of CU’s MS’s and high/low angles etc specific to the register and tone of the song.
Cut in and out from performance to narrative of music video will continue for majority of song.
Scene 4 (Last)
Lead singer nearly catches Tracie as she slows down to meet him however, Tracie becomes slightly transparent almost ghost like. Cut into the point of view of the lead singer he blinks then is back within the real world sitting down where the music video began.
A slow pan to the left and the lead singer finds the female reading a novel; she tilts her head up to catch the eye of the lead singer.
My role within the project
My role within the project
In my group i have been assigned with the role of producer. I feel this role is suitable for me as although i have never had any experience i feel i naturally have the skill set to perform well in this role. A key skill to be a producer is to be organised which is something that may not always come naturally to me but i feel will be possible with in this task. As I'm not naturally the most organised person i realise this role will challenge me in a positive way.
Another skill i feel will be essential is being a good negotiator. I have found in previous experiences and in day to day life that I find working with others to be trouble-free and something i enjoy. With these skills i am up to the task of coordintaing the team and communicating efficiently with the band.
To be a good producer you also have to be a good decision maker and a good communicator, I feel i embody both these skills and work well under pressure.
Initial thoughts
After our first group meeting we discussed some potential ideas in terms of the genre we wish to explore, ways we can find and contact an unsigned artist. We all assigned ourselves to different aspects of the require research.
